Tomen Devices Corporation was founded in March 1992 with the goal of Japan-based marketing for semiconductor products and electronic components manufactured by Samsung Group, a world-leading semiconductor manufacturer. In response to diverse customer requirements, we are expanding our business by leveraging our relationship with the highly competitive Samsung Group and collaboration with the Toyota Tsusho Group, which are our strengths.
The semiconductor industry saw significant growth during the transition from large-scale to personal computers, and has played a central role in the age of digital consumer appliances and smartphones, and in the fields of video games and amusement. Recently, semiconductor are not confined to these domains, and they are increasingly becoming an essential component in medical, automotive and other fields.
The business environment has become tougher for semiconductor trading companies in recent years due to stagnation in Japan’s semiconductor market, the emergence of mega distributors, and the revision of sales rights caused by semiconductor manufacturer M&A. Meanwhile, the semiconductor market is expected to expand further, mainly due to IoT-driven demand for data centers, increased data flow, the spread of AI, and automobile electrification. Tomen Devices will continue offering customer-oriented, finely tuned services through business development that leverages our strengths based on our relationship with the Samsung Group and our synergies with the Toyota Tsusho Group, whereby we can establish relationships of trust from a long-term perspective.
